Kristen Rawls

I picked up my first 35 mm camera my freshman year of high school, and I was hooked. My love for photography grew immensely with every new thing I learned about it. I got my first DSLR camera my senior year as a gift from my parents and after taking an advanced photography class that year, I knew it was something I was going to be interested in indefinitely. I knew that I wanted to really dig deeper and see what photography was all about, and so I majored in art with a concentration in photography at Longwood University.

All through college, I took pictures of anything and everything I could and I found that I loved taking portraits. For me, there is nothing like capturing the moments between two people in love, rising seniors who are so excited for their senior year and precious new borns. I’m really interested in the photography business and wanted to really learn the ins and outs of it, and I was given that opportunity by John Warters. I just recently graduated and was blessed enough to get a job at Photo Refelections. I get the chance to delve deeper into this wonderful passion of mine and learn so much more from a wonderful photographer. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to work in such a great atmosphere, and learn first hand more about this career I love so much.
