My story is simple, I love taking photos, and I always have! My desire to learn more about photography was unstoppable from there!

My journey into photography started with a love of capturing landscapes and nature with my little point and shoot camera. I really loved the challenge of creating a photograph that relayed the natural beauty and the emotions I felt when experiencing the scene. Landscapes are still one of my absolute favorite things to shoot! However, while working with children, I also found a love of taking photos of kids. I really loved trying to capture that one moment when a child stops smiling for the camera and just lets their true personality come through!

About two years ago I married my amazing husband Aaron and we moved to Virginia. I found myself in a new place with plenty of extra time on my hands. I spent a good deal of that time learning more about photography, mostly through books and online. I soon realized I wanted to know more than just what the books could teach me, I wanted to work in photography, be around the business, and learn from it! I didn’t know if anyone would take me in, I had very little knowledge of photography, and no Photoshop experience! Impossible you say? In comes John Warters. I came across this very website online and I liked his work, so I contacted him, and he actually hired me! He said he would basically pay me to learn! And I’ve been learning every day since! I don’t know that I’ll always get paid to do what I love, but either way, I know photography is something I will continue to do, and I am very excited to see where it takes me!
